Job Description

In its role as a business partner, the finance function ensures the company keeps continuous focus on compliance, control and risk management to manage the company’s risks such as financial, processes, compliance, business, etc., and meet the requirements of governmental and other regulatory bodies, as well as the internal regulation frameworks.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting and tax agenda, IFRS and statutory, and together with Finance Director ensures the company keeps continuous focus on compliance, control and risk management to manage the company’s risks such as financial, processes, compliance, business, and meet the requirements of governmental and other regulatory bodies, as well as the internal guidelines (e.g. the Combined Business Model).

This role reports directly to Finance Director and has directs reports locally.

  • Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a team of accounting and tax professionals to ensure that accounting and reporting activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Is responsible for an accurate reporting of financial statements both corporate and statutory, according to IFRS and RAS.
  • Provides technical expertise and advice on accounting issues to the team, help them develop and understand financial reports and manage their financial responsibilities.
  • Is accountable for local tax and accounting compliance, planning and accounting for income taxes for the local entity.
  • Ensures accurate and complete financial records and participates in audits or reconciliations, as needed. Ensures proper documentations and follow-up for Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) financial controls.
  • Manages the monthly/quarterly/annual deliveries in terms of Statutory Reporting, Transfer Pricing, Statistical Reporting, between the fulfilling of other local requirements and taxes.

For this role we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • University degree, preferably in accounting/business/finance/economics. Post-graduate degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in finance / Accounting leadership, preferably a background in FMCG area
  • Experience in ensuring tax and accounting compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of local tax and accounting practices, as well as IFRS knowledge
  • Knowledge of MS Office, SAP
  • Fluent in English and Romanian
